The Library Catalog

The Williamsburg Library Public Access Catalog (PAC) is an online resource that provides access to the holdings of the Williamsburg MA libraries, as well as the holdings of other libraries in the Central/Western Massachusetts Automated Resource Sharing (C/W MARS) network. Access to the PAC is available from any computer with a connection to the World Wide Web.

Using the PAC

Requesting Items from Other Catalogs

To have an item (book, video, CD, etc.) sent to you from another library:

  1. Log in to the Public Access Catalog
  2. Search for the item you wish to request (see the Search Help page if you need more help with this
  3. Click on the Request button available at the top of the record
  4. At the next screen, enter Your Name, Library Card Number and PIN (if you’ve never used the system before leave the PIN blank, and follow the onscreen instructions).
  5. Finally, choose a Pickup Location.
  6. Click on Submit Above Information.

You will receive a phone call or email (your choice) when the item has arrived.

Viewing Your Circulation Record and Renewing

You can review your circulation record to renew books, to see the number of books you have checked out and their due dates, to determine if any books are being held for you, and to see if you owe any fines.

To renew:

  1. Click on Library Catalog.
  2. If you’ve already set up a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for your record, enter your library barcode number and PIN.

    If you haven’t made up your PIN and are viewing your record for the first time, enter your barcode and leave the space for PIN blank. You’ll be prompted to enter a new PIN on the next page. If you forget your PIN, you’ll need to call the library to reset it, so please remember it.

  3. Click on View checked out items and you’ll be able to see what items you have checked out, and renew your items online.

Finding What Articles Have Been Written On a Topic

To find out what articles have been written on a topic, click on: Library Links

If accessing databases from home, be sure to choose the “home access” option.

Remember: You must have a valid library barcode number to access databases from your home or office.

Printing or Emailing

While viewing a list of titles, mark the records you wish to print or email by clicking in the box to the left of each title. Once you’ve selected the desired record(s) on the page, click on the button marked Save Marked Records.

Continue with this procedure until all records desired have been marked, then click on View Saved Records button.


To email, enter your email address and click on the Submit button.

To print the screen of records you’ve chosen, click in the radio button to the left of the word Screen and then click on the Submit button. Last, click on the Print button/icon at the top of your browser.
